Rokopol® RF551 is a general purpose sorbitol based polyether polyol for production of rigid and semi-rigid polyurethane foam (PUR) in reaction with isocyanate. The product has liquid form, ranging from transparent to yellow colour, containing BHT free antioxidants. It retains low viscosity of ca. 3000-5000 mPas with relatively high functionality f=4.5 and high hydroxyl value of ca. 440mgKOH/g.
The unique structure of Rokopol® RF551 and the physicochemical parameters required in the PUR systems determine its use for a wide range of rigid polyurethane foam applications. Rokopol® RF551 is used in combination with other polyols and additives in order to modify the properties of the PUR system, in particular the following: viscosity, reactivity, gelling, crosslinking level, and the rigid foam end product parameters: i.e. adhesion to various substrates, flame-retardant level, hardness, abrasiveness, closed cell contents (insulating properties). The product can be used in a wide range of construction industry applications.
